About Friendly Football Club

A simple idea, done properly

Friendly Football Club provides weekly, non-competitive football sessions for children aged 9–11 who want to play without pressure.

It’s for children who enjoy football but don’t enjoy trials, teams, or being judged. There are no permanent sides, no expectations to perform, and no focus on winning. Every child plays, every session.

Who it’s for

Friendly Football Club is ideal for:

  • children who feel anxious or lack confidence

  • children who have stepped away from clubs

  • late developers and mixed-ability players

  • neurodivergent children

  • children new to an area or school

This is not an academy or a development pathway. It’s simply a safe, friendly place to play football.

How sessions work

Sessions run weekly and follow a calm, predictable structure:

  • friendly welcome and name check-in

  • fun warm-up games

  • small-sided matches with rotating teams

  • relaxed cool-down and positive wrap-up

There is no shouting, no benching, and no pressure to win.

Safety and supervision

Safety comes first at Friendly Football Club.

All sessions are supervised by two PVG-checked adults, with clear safeguarding procedures in place. Groups are kept small so children are supported, included, and safe at all times.

Who runs it

Friendly Football Club is currently run directly by the founder, Brian, during the pilot phase. This approach allows sessions to remain small, consistent, and well supervised. He is supported by his father, Brian, who assists with the delivery and supervision of sessions.

As the program develops, additional sessions and age groups may be introduced, but only when this can be done without compromising safety, quality, or the overall experience for the children.
