Friendly Football Club was created for children who love playing football but don’t enjoy the pressure that often comes with teams, trials, and competition. For many kids, especially those who are shy, late developers, or simply want to enjoy the game, traditional football environments can feel overwhelming rather than fun.

The idea came from my own experience using a similar pick-up football app as an adult. I loved how simple it was — you find a game, turn up, play, and enjoy it, with no pressure and no expectations. At some point, it struck me that this kind of football experience should exist for children too.

Football should be something children look forward to. It should help build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging — not anxiety or fear of getting things wrong. That belief sits at the heart of everything we do.

Friendly Football Club brings that same “just turn up and play” feeling to children, but with safety, safeguarding, and parental trust at the centre. Sessions are relaxed, non-competitive, and inclusive, with a focus on participation, enjoyment, and positive experiences rather than results or ability.

This isn’t about producing footballers. It’s about giving children a safe, friendly place to enjoy the game.
